stuff

Merry Christmas/Happy New Year/Happy Hanukkah/Enjoy Whatnot :)

so i have two quick things before i run out while the baby is snoozing and Hubby's home..

1: check out http://crankyfitness.blogspot.com/ ... Crabby and Merry are hilarious, a little jaded, and very informative.. AND they do giveaways periodically, and this time their Random Number Generator picked me! YAY! I won me a fancy pants blender :)

2: WTF.. i've been half assed collecting betty crocker points for a long time because my mom got some good stuff once upon a time from them and told me to collect them too. So today, i went online to get one of the damn catalogs finally, and what do i find out? they stopped the program in 2006!! TWO YEARS AGO! dammit.. i've got a ton of these stupid bits of cardboard, a bunch of points, and all i can do with them is get a measly 10% off an order from the website. bastards...

Hope you have a better (and way warmer) day today... and a happy last day of the year tomorrow!

tee hee

ok.. gotta pat myself on the back a little bit here. yesterday i got to cross a couple more things of The List! i installed that stupid blind, finished wrapping the gifts, and got most of the laundry done! And Carl did the dishes once he got home :)

Today's list? yeah.. gotta shower, go to a BF support group at one of the hospitals, pick up Lilly's pro pics (i'll do my best to scan and post one or two), go grocery shopping, and decorate the tree. And cook dinner. And vacuum up all the tracked in salt. And order my BIL's gift. I think i might be able to do most of that! Glad I got up fairly early today..

Stay warm!

Procrastinate... that's my middle name!

Barb's comment on my last rant made me chuckle.. Don't let me scare you hon - I'm positive you'll be somewhere between me and Kelly on the productivity scale! I never got much done even before Lilly was born, so why would that change for the better? :) I still haven't learned to multitask at home nearly as well as I need to. I did, however, get a few things done that day... our Christmas tree now has lights (but no ornaments).. i made a ton of soup.. the curtains are a lil bit closer to finished.. some of the gifts are wrapped.. photo album is organized.. Lilly is still well fed and clean.. and the dogs, cat, hubby and I are fed. I'll count that as a success! Besides.. that list was my running To Do list. A list of stuff that needs to be done sometime in the near future, not necessarily today :) I suppose I should install that blind now and get it off the damn list! It's just too damn cold today to do the grocery shopping with the lil one in tow, so I think it's going to be all about laundry/BF'ing/diapers/wrapping presents/blinds/cooking dinner. Fun times, eh?

mental note: add to To Do List - vacuum, pay cell bill, pick up Lilly's Christmas pictures, do dishes, order BIL's gift, upload a TON of baby pics, and bring Lilly to Albany IVF to rub it in the RE's nose that he was SO wrong about our chances. The list never disappears!

too much time..

my mom sent me this link, and wow.. these folks have far too much time on their hands! really interesting, sure, but damn..

http://www.holdman.com/christmas/video.asp

it's beginning to look alot like Christmas..

So yesterday morning we got maybe 3 inches of snow.. and wouldn't you know it, it rained on top. Maked shoveling the resulting slush a pain in the ass.. and of course last night was below freezing so we have uber crunchy snow in the yard for the dogs to walk in. poor pups.. the great dane hasn't even seen Northeast Snow before - she doesn't know what to do with herself! it should be interesting when we get "several inches" (according to the forecast..) of snow tomorrow. At least it'll stay below freezing for the next week, so Lilly will have a White Christmas! very exciting, that...

I have too many things to do, and not enough time to actually DO them. I never understood how a SAHM with a tiny baby would have trouble getting things done. Like grocery shopping - it used to take me an hour, and all the stuff was put away too. Now? That's virtually the only thing i get done on Mondays! I was actually at the store for 2 hours this week. I swear, Lilly knows she's surrounded by food, and therefor HAS to eat. When I cook, she knows. and wants to eat too. A baby sleeps most of the day, right? yeah no. I don't think so. I get up, change her, feed her, have to take the dogs out (and of course i can't take them out together because they'll just play and not do their business), try and eat breakfast, feed the dogs, feed the cat, clean up the kitchen counter (someone has issues pouring coffee without spilling it on the counter), change the baby, feed the baby, get some coffee maybe while watching the news.. I swear, it's near impossible to get a solid chunk of time to do anything like bake, or relax and shower.. forget getting to shave or actually do my hair!

I do count my blessings though.. we have a very happy daughter and she usually sleeps through the night. has been since she was about 2 or 3 weeks old. Even now, when we think she's teething already! but let me tell you.. I'm DREADING teeth. Those that know the drama we had with thrush and blanching and some serious pain, i'm sure will understand why.

So what do I want to do today? hmm... i need to finish sewing some insulated curtains for our bedroom, sew footie pj's for Lillian, organize a photo album, wrap all the christmas presants, write to my nephew, get Lilly's Christmas picture taken, put lights on the tree, decorate the tree, fill out an insurance claim, take BOTH cars to dealers for recalls that were issued over a year ago, bake cookies, make soup for the IL's Christmas dinner on Sunday, shower, cook dinner... Think I can get all that done, plus keep the baby clean and fed?

Time Flies..

I probably won't be updating this here new-fangled thing very often, but due to overwhelming request (yeah..only one - you know who you are, woman!) here it is!

My disclaimer: I can only claim credit for my own thoughts, and I'm all kinds of messed up. :) My thoughts are just weird, even though I'm a happily married mother to one little beautiful girl! Do not take offense if I come out with some random idea/question/musing - I'll be using this blog as a diary/chat board/rant/photo album. I welcome comments and discussions as different P.O.V.'s can be enlightening !

My hubby and I were discussing this in the car Saturday, and i wonder if anyone else has felt the same way. So i will throw this out there as food for thought: anyone sit back and look at where you are in life (for me, I'm a SAHM with an almost 3 month old) and think, "when the hell did this happen?! I'm not an adult! I'm still a ridiculous, irresponsible kid! Just yesterday I was in college, hanging out with my friends until 4am, doing whatever I want to! " I'm truly happy with my life - don't get me wrong - but occasionally i feel like time has swept me up and carried me down the road faster than i realize. Anyone else?
