phew!

we've had a busy busy week! a play date and groceries on Monday, snow day and furnace maintenance on Tuesday, play date Thursday, ultrasound, shopping with Grandma, and errands on Friday. now if my sleepy tired daughter would just give in and nap, we'd be all set :)

Mom got to see my u/s this am because Lilly was calm enough to let her... a first for both of them! Mom had only seen the still pictures before, so she was happy to be able to see the new baby dancing around and hear the heartbeat. measuring right on target for August 31st, and according to the tech and dr, today's downs syndrome screening is nothing to be worried about. I'll get the official result next week. It wouldn't change anything, just give us warning, but I'm glad to get this result :)

I contacted the crib company.. apparently all i have to do to convert it to a daybed is take off the front rail. the bed spring platform thing holds the front together. so woohoo, the $20 bed rail i found will fit and keep Lilly in and save us from spending $90 on the crib's official toddler rail.

rumor has it that one of the other young women in my family is also pregnant! yay! between the two of us and another of my playgroup moms, this will be another exciting summer/fall. I do need to register for a mom n toddler swim class for this spring tho - it'll be great for Lilly to get into a pool early this year and i know we will be swimming alot this summer.

alright.. got to get *something* done now that the soon to be big sister is quiet...

help!

With baby #2 in the works for August, I've been thinking about what we'll need to get for furniture. Especially since babies r us is doing a trade-in get 25% off promotion and my sister and i went nuts finding cheap pack n plays at garage sales! Going to get a second wooden Graco highchair which goes nicely with our table, fits under it (w/o the big tray on it), and converts into a big kid chair.

After our first crib was recalled, we got this one : Sorelle Tuscany Elite Lifetime Crib. Might end up getting another one for #2. Fine, right? well I've been very happy with it so far. Need to think about converting Lilly's into a toddler bed in the near future tho. So I asked at BRU yesterday and was told that if it converts into a daybed, i can get a generic wooden bedrail that they sell off the shelf and save some $$ insted of special ordering the sorelle toddler rail. The info on the display model of our crib says it converts to a daybed, but the instructions were AWOL. My instructions don't have *anything* about it. not even how to convert to a twin bed. So now i'm on the hunt. This is what naptime will be about today.
.
Oh, and Sorelle's website doesn't even have this version of the crib - they only have this crib with the attached changer. And their directions? HA! even THAT doesn't say anything about converting it to a daybed even tho it's in the description of the crib. it's freaking rediculous. they still MAKE this crib, so what the hell?! They will be hearing from me today.

uuuuuugh..

So last post i said Lilly woke up full of snot, right? well the inevitable happened. I caught it. fine and expected, but I'm now 10wks pregnant so i can't take a damn thing to help. And the icing on the cake is that the hubby came home from work last night MISERABLE. He's got it too. I love him, but he's such a whiner when he's sick! Not to mention how badly he snores... over the weekend i'd end up on the couch by morning because of how i felt + the obnoxious snoring. Last night i kicked the poor guy out of bed at 10pm. i know i slept better w/o hearing the chainsaw.. he was doped up on nyquil anyway so i don't feel tooooo bad, but this is rediculous! I need to get out of the house and interact with adults, but I can't risk my dad getting this cold - he can now blow his nose normally without feeling like he's going to split his chest again. he doesn't need to do it this much AND cough.

poor, lonely me... waah waah waah...
